MEET DR. JULIE PLAGENS
We are pleased you have considered our office for your dental care! I have a special interest in the overall health and dental needs of your mouth! Patients are educated about their dental health and are then able to make informed decisions. A comprehensive dental plan is then individualized for each patient. We stress prevention in the hopes that patients learn the long term benefits of a healthy dental routine.
Dr. Plagens is from Elkhart, graduating from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1985 as Julie A. Gaydos as valedictorian. She earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University in 1989 and following, a D.D.S. degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1993. She has participated in various Continuing Education classes to further her valuable education.
Dr. Plagens is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the Indiana Dental Association and has been active in Children’s Dental Health Month. She is also a sustainer for Junior League Charity Organization, and a past member of Mishawaka Rotary.
Although her practice is in South Bend, she resides in Elkhart with her husband Ray and daughters Marisa and Morgan. Ray operates his own company Rayz the Bar, Inc. which provides self employed benefits such as individual health insurance and consulting services to small businesses. He was also recently promoted to Colonel in the Army Reserves. Our interests include golf, skiing, scrapbooking, traveling and any activities that interest our girls, such as swimming and soccer.

KIM - Dental Hygienist
Kim graduated from Indiana University South Bend in 1993 from the dental assisting program, then in 1996 from the dental hygiene program. She has been working with Dr. Plagens since 1999. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their children, Gavin and McKenna. She also enjoys scrapbooking and going to the beach. |

ANNE - Dental Assistant
Anne has been in the Dental Field for 30 years and has been with Dr. Plagens since 1998. She is a Radiology and Expanded Duties Certified Dental Assistant. She recently married the Love of Her Life, David and enjoys spending time with him and their blended family of 6 sons and 1 daughter. Michael, Andrew, Jeffrey, Jonathan, David, Keaton, and Erica. They recently built a new home in the country on 22 acres and she is loving the peace and quiet and all of the beauty that goes with it. |

DARLENE - Office Manager
Darlene has been in the Dental Field as office manager since 1985, and with Dr. Plagens since 1998. In her free time she enjoys heading to Indianapolis to spend time with her daughter Kim, and two grandchildren, Chase and Riley. She loves watching Notre Dame football and watching NASCAR racing. (Go Ryan Newman.) She also enjoys going out with her friends to Hacienda, and just enjoying life in general. |
